BJ - 6 Month Stages

He's growing up so fast. BJ is confident and he's moving. When he was not quickly crawling everywhere, we were able to catch a few family shots. He promptly took center stage and stole the show for this session.

Portrait Party by Rodrick Moore Photography

A portrait party is a fun and exciting way to have professional portraits for you and your friends at a location of your choice. Here are the benefits:

  • No sitting fee
  • No buying at the party (no pressure)
  • Online Gallery for proofing and ordering
  • Host rewards

How it works

The host reserves the date and invites 4 to 12 families. The host also provides the location, coordinates the refreshments, activities, the guest list and scheduling the 15-minute session times for each family. Everyone has fun during their session and enjoy the activities. A day or two after the party, the portraits are posted online for the guests to view and place their orders. After the guests have placed their orders, the host is able to place an order based on credits received from the guests’ purchases.

Host Rewards

As the host, you receive rewards for free portrait products:

  • 20% print credit on guests orders during the online gallery period
  • Free printable digital photograph, 8x10 or 8x10 equivalent for each guest who reserves a portrait party

Party Themes

Portrait parties can be held as a sole party or combined with an activity or function already planned. The best parties have a theme such as:

  • Maternity
  • Newborn
  • Babies
  • Couples
  • Family
  • Teen
  • Seniors
  • Girls Night
  • Holiday
  • Valentines
  • Halloween
  • Christmas
  • Wine Tasting
  • And more

Reserving a Party

After finding several interested guests, find an available date on Rodrick Moore Photography’s calendar and then secure the date with a reservation fee. Using forms provided by the studio, schedule your friends’ portrait time. Email invitations and reminders. The more guests you invite and schedule, the greater your rewards.

The reservation fee is refunded with guests purchases that exceed $200 or it is converted to a print credit.

NILMDTS Annual Fund Drive

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, "A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members... " To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.

Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc' allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online. Donations help make programs like this a reality!

Your Donations Support the Organization in Many Ways -
  • By supporting the continued education of our volunteer photographers
  • By allowing us to further our outreach to hospitals and hospices across the world
  • By offsetting the costs associated with outreach efforts including Formal NILMDTS Traingin Seminars
  • By supporting the Family Forum which creates a productive and supportive haven for healing
  • By supporting the Photographers' Forum which provides a helpful environment for our member photographers to express their feelings and receive advice on the various issues that they face in this noble work
  • By supporting the day to day operations of our Headquarters Offices

NILMDTS - Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

There comes a time when you feel that there is a reason for the gift God has given you.

I was awakened to the realism that of all the newborn babies who leave the hospital with their families, there is quite a few who are destined to never leave and will not enjoy the journey of growing up.

My wife and I are blessed to have two wonderfully healthy boys who fill our lives each day.  We enjoy each moment and smile while looking over the photos of them growing up.  How can I give comfort to those who will never experience this joy?

The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization joins families in need with photographers willing to provide timeless images of precious moments of family with child.  Finding out about this organization touched my heart deeply.  I am now in the program and will begin my training to offer my gift of forever mementos to families who will never leave the hospital with their infant child due to some child physical limitation.

I will do my part...

Favorite Child Catalogs

We recently received the latest issues of my wife's favorite child catalogs: Company Kids, Leaps and Bounds, and One Step Ahead.  These have been coming regularly since my first son and my wife has equally ordered from them.  I spend a lot of time browsing the pages marveling over what my children can get which were no where in sight when I was their age.

There are plenty of ideal things in here along with a lot of safety and cleanliness items (one of my wife's pet peeves).   I guess in a house full of guys, it takes a woman's touch to keep us healthy ;-)

Bill and Sharna... Belly Moments

The love...

The joy...

of Belly Moments.

Maternity Session for Bill and Sharna

Bill and Sharna are a great fun and loving couple. Over nine months ago, they decided to expand their love to a new baby who is due later this month. There was no questioning they wanted to express themselves in their maternity session so the Belly Moments life portrait session was a true fit for them. Conveniently set at their home, Bill and Sharna were quickly comfortable with going from the large, plush animal slippers to barefoot on the carpet.

As this is a portion of my photography business I see growing, I was able to offer a bit more session time to cover additional options. A couple hours, laughs, smiles and conversations later, the session ended with me packing up my gear as the couple settled in for a cozy Sunday evening.

Needless to say from the following images, the two had a great time and will have balls of energy and love to shower on the new member of their family. I look forward to capturing some of these moments as they grow through the first year of Stages.
